Sorry, no. We are using that HTML escape at present to provide some features that we can't otherwise provide, but it is very likely we will disable it in the future.

We had a discussion about the use of HTML on the site when the migration project was originally started and we want to avoid embedding HTML for numerous reasons, not least security. Part of the reason why the migration was so difficult was because so much of the existing content was poorly-formed HTML. If HTML is broken by future site upgrades, we will most likely just be telling people that they need to rewrite it in XWiki format.
