Please allow me to remain stubborn in my support of DTML : I have developed,
with my team, multiple web apps using DTML and yes, every
language/technology has its pros and cons, but talk of "the mess that is
DTML" just isn't coherent (at all) with our experiences ...

Now, "the mess that is DTML" is also an absolute statement; my question then
is: 'a mess compared to what'? Do you think it is messier than, say, PHP
smarty templates ? Or messier than the rather hardcoded
'self.writeln("<p>%s</p>" % (string))' statements in some of the WebKit
examples ?

But, much more interesting and I would like to ask this to the other
apparant DTML criticist Ian as well: what do you use for templating (PSP ,
ZPT , sthg. else?) ? Though stubborn in my support, I haven't said that
other technologies less familiar to me are inferior per se - on the
contrary! - so I would much appreciate tips to upgrade our apparant 'DTML
legacy' in coming projects !

Yours,

Thijs Cobben
