LAN only: No. LAN option: nice, because it makes virtualization much easier. Budget: if the "full options" VP2 meets the requirements and is worth the money, I'd go for it.
What driver is used for weewx and the HP2552, can you plug an usb into the raspberry and is it backfill capable?
