Follow-up Comment #3, bug #14425 (project wesnoth):
I worry about 3 different issues:
Missing filters in events that prevent unsuitable characters (Kromph in that
case) from triggering them.
If Kromph survives even so meant to be dead there won't be any special story
text for him for the remaining scenarios.
I am not sure if that could be noticed by the player at all.
The third issue was raised by shadowmaster on irc and is related to the
campaigns balance:
<shadowmaster> fendrin: yes, Kromph has to die. I guess quartex made it so
since having that guy around for too long may overpower the player when
fightiing e.g skeletons in Zocthanol
