Follow-up Comment #4, bug #14425 (project wesnoth):

fendrin, I'm going to do an audit.  If I remember the play of the last two
scenarios correctly,  

1) There doesn't need to be special story for Kromph, any more than for the
Dust Devil.

2) I'm not worried about balance here.  Like all berserking units, Kromph is
offensively powerful but vulnerable to group attacks that are exactly the
sort of thing an AI running undead (as in Battle for Zocthanol Isle) normally
does. And if Kromph is really helpful, I'll say the player deserves a reward
for having taken Eloh out that quickly.  

What I think I will do is audit the last two scenarios for filters that might
go wrong and fix them.  Then I'm prepared to call this fixed; if some problem
turns up later regarding Kromph's persistence, that is properly reported as a
separate bug.
