This is basically stating that not almost everything of a campaign should be
changed just three weeks after it was added. Sure some evolution is fine, but
there is a difference between changing one or two scenarios and changing
basically *everything*. The problem with the last dev-cycle was mainly that
those translations directly starting on the new content were basically shot in
the back by the sudden changes to *lots* of the content. Of course the old stuff
in mainline will and should get updates/fixes, too.

In general I do think that one major task for the future will be to find a good
balance between changes to what is there and the translation overhead we do
produce. I think it gets problematic if we rewrite something, leave it in for a
month and throw all those changes overboard just to do different changes to the
campaign. I would more prefer to have the campaign story development take place
somewhere outside of trunk and then move the whole bunch in once it is settled,
so that the whole stuff only changes once and not several times. It is a lot
more difficult for translators to aim for a moving target than saying "yes, we
will have big changes, we will do them in a huge bulk and notice you when we
think they are done".

If you have any proposals how we can handle the evolution of current mainline
content in a decent way, please state them. I am really open to any ideas which
will allow a balance between the improvement of the "original" game and
extending translations and reducing the translators overhead so that they
actually have a chance to finish their task and use the stringfreeze for mainly
polishing things instead of the main work taking place then.
