That was what I was afraid of...
As I understand it, you might have a problem doing that...
I think the VM setup will only "make" a virtual LPT port that
the Host OS (Win-XP?) will then make available to the VM
program. XP will then use your actual XP hardware to print.
(IIRC) You do not "install" hardware directly into a VM in the normal way.
It is all "virtualized" in the VM, and the thing that actually makes things
work is when those "virtual translations" work their way back out
to XP where the real XP hardware is accessed... (I could be wrong...)
This may be another one of the things that got me out of the VM "space"...

The one very practical thing I want to do is print documents with an older Mita
laser printer that only works with Win98. It would be nice to continue word
processing in WinXP and then print from Win98 assuming that I will have the
same (compatible) word processor (WordPerfect) in both Operating Systems.
