Mr Theory meet Mr. Reality. You work in a school environment
(according to your sig) and know (or should know) that leaving
it unattended, not keeping it out of sight, and not keeping it
close by when not in use, is how many of the laptops at school
are ripped off.
As for the students who forget what they learned at home...
It's just a phrase...
then why should the schools load students down with homework
that doesn't improve their skills or enhance their learning
Following that reasoning, might as well just abolish school
altogether.
