Mr Theory meet Mr. Reality. You work in a school environment
(according to your sig) and know (or should know) that leaving
it unattended, not keeping it out of sight, and not keeping it
close by when not in use, is how many of the laptops at school
are ripped off.

It's more the reality of the real world. Leave anything unattended and
it's likely to disappear... the more valuable, the more likely it will
happen. I keep a blanket in the car to cover the laptop when we get
out - or i put it in the trunk. Otherwise, it's more likely my car
will be broken into.
