That's true but to a certain extent there are lots of students who will
be cashed traped and are willing to sell stolen term papers on the net to
get a quick buck besides illegally supporting their tutition or expense money.
Selling term papers I don't condone at all and yes there are other students
who just want
the laptop and don't care about the data either but still IMHO the way I see it
Security
comes as a first priority for me. Of coures no one else would want to have
their laptops,
ipods, cell phones, ect stolen since we keep almost all of our data on them.
Id theft is rampant and is a fact of life and always wil be in existence so
long as there
are people who carry ipods, laptops and cell phones there's unfortunately, no
way
to end it at all. All people can do is backup their data and keep what they
think is personal
or important to them in a safe place on CD, DVD or USB memory stick.
I my self keep most of my important data on DVDs and memory cards and use
encryption
methods on them but even that too is no guarantee that your data will ever be
secure.
All we can do is put a finger in the dike and hope that no more leaks or data
breaches happen.

What good is a bio scanner when the theft is looking for a quick buck
from reselling it? Unless the thief or buyer is stupid (and many are)
they'll reformat. In most cases, they don't give a sh** about the data
on it, they want the equipment (and the software) - including in most
of the data theft cases making the news. bios pw and fingerprint
readers will slow them but not stop them.
The better solution for term papers is backups or save to a removable
drive - either USB sticks or memory cards.
