Hi All,

I have more observations about my "problem" connections here at
www.OB1Net.net. I have now jimmied my antenna's such that
the subscriber has a peaked out NetStumbler signal into the unit.

But, wait there is still a problem... Even though signal strength is maxed,
there is no link unless the dongle is carefully positioned.
Turn the computer (and power to the dongle off) and you must then find a new
sweet spot to get a link. I am measuring link by pinging the gate. While
the ping is going, if I move the dongle 18 inches, even though signal
strength is still pegged, we loose ping, completely.

I am hypothesizing, that there is a mammoth interfering signal in the
neighborhood. That is not 802.11b Does this sound reasonable to the group?
And if this is a reasonable assumption, how would I go about tracking down
the source of this signal, and if I do, do I have a prayer of abating it?
What happens if it's the radar on the top of mount Tam?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I also want to thank everyone who answered my Windows Poison Pill message.
I found the only solution was to strip down the OS, delete all the current
references to the ATMEL drive in the registry and then do a re-install of
the driver. Now it works.

Happy New Year,

Gerard J. Cerchio
