If you install Linux, and the madwifi drivers, Kismet
will support wireless sniffing..

If you don't want to go to the trouble of installing
linux, you can try Airopeek for wireless sniffing.

It appears that they may have drivers for the atheros
a/b/g card that is in your laptop.  (Assuming that
you didn't get the Centrino package..)

They don't mention your particular card by name in
the list of supported cards, but they do list other
atheros based cards.

Which Thinkpad are we talking about, anyway?
