This used to be 0 to -10dB but I changed it to 0 to -30dB because I 
noticed that on some platforms the internal implementation of the Qt 
volume control has different results. My initial implementation 
attempted to linearise the action of the silder and give a reasonably 
accurate attenuation scale on Windows. Unfortunately at present the 
scale is not accurate on other platforms.

For now I'm not inclined to change the range before the scale accuracy 
issues can be addressed.
