Hi all, I'm having a regression in screen resolution when upgrading from 2009.06 at 111b level to the 117 and 118 levels. This is on an Acer desktop with an ATI RS690 [Radeon X1200 Series] and a Viewtronic VS12297 monitor. I should be able to get the monitor's preferred 1920x1280 resolution (and I dimly recall getting that with 2008.05), but get only 1680x1050 under 2009.06 at 111b level, and 117/118 level only 1280x1024 (and an ugly aspect ratio).
That is only after substantial trial and error with xorg.conf: adding modeline created by gtf, changing H and V frequencies, changing driver name, etc. Remove xorg.conf and X starts but the monitor refuses to display data (it unhelpfully just shows "input out of range" on a blank screen). Guess wrong with xorg.conf and it falls back to 700x400. Relevant scanpci -x output is attached, and most recent Xorg.log.0 from recent boot on nv118 level. Any pointers will be much appreciated. regards, Jeff -- This message posted from opensolaris.org -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
