Ken, aren't you shooting a bit over the top here? If you had filed this "bug" half a year or so ago for 7.3, then maybe. But Xorg 7.4 has not even been released yet: http://www.x.org/wiki/ "The current X.Org release is X11R7.3. The next major release will be X11R7.4. Information about all releases is available. (Important: If you have an older release, please see the SecurityPage for information on security updates.)" And there are still *many* drivers which have not even been ported to libpciaccess yet (therefore cannot be used in 7.4). And to file this "bug" after the X11-group has announed a migration schedule is real nonsense. There is a myriad of (Sun-)patches which need to be ported, every time a server-upgrade or Mesa-upgare takes place, as explained by Alan earlier. If you like to help the X11 group with the migration, then you can ask for push access for the new 7.4 gate, as desribed ny Alan Coopersmith. Sorry, but that's the technical situation. Regards, Martin (p.s. We wanted to release the Natamar-SPARC Live CD before I leave home for 1 week, but there are still too many kernel/driver-related problems. I'm out of office in 5 hours, until mid/end of next week.)
