Nothing much can be done about this power contestation since it was
implanted by the orchestrators of anarchy such as Mbalula under whose reign
the indicators of contestation first emerged around 2002 in the then Medunsa.
Surprisingly nothing dicisive was done until the trend enlarged to then
TURFLOOP. Yet when Mbeki contemplated his own crazy move to launch ANC branch
at workplaces to oust COSATU structures Mbalula was amongst the first to
condemn he move whilst he had same sinister intentions of hostile takeover of
by the ANCYL on campuses. This is the man that some are convinced that he must
hold an esteemed office that once was held by great ones such as Plaatjie,
Nzo, Ramaphosa, Motlanthe and currently by the big general Mantashe. ANC will
be damned to allow murderers of progressive organisation to lead it at that
level; despite it being the so called broader church I never imagined ANC
being led by bandits!

My view is that what makes people not to join SASCO when they are members
of YCLSA or ANCYL on campuses? The strange thing also is that cdes will be
members of SASCO and still push PYA contestation. Why advocate for PYA
whereas all of you are members of SASCO?

In some cases, you would find that the leagues will not do anything the
whole year and not be active but when it comes to the election time, they
call for unity of pya. Cdes must just allow SASCO to keep its rightful space
in higher education and where there is YCLSA or ANCYL, they then give support
on things SASCO requests support on, maybe like the FREE Education march or
something.

 Long live SASCO

the politics of smash and grab are at play here- that is from a distant
observation. one could ask- why the break down/break up? is it a sign of the
demise of tripartite politics? is it that cdes ae so intolerant of each other
that the politics of devide and rule should now take precedence? what is
really wrong with members of the leagues enriching, charting course of, and
defending debates within SASCO? is it nont true that COSAS/SASCO are for the
pupils(students); and such room should be dictated by such inspiration to
develop a better and well informed product ready and capable to lead in the
communities they emerged from- initially?
PYA should entrench within their mist a culture of commonality of political
persuance, a willing sacrifice of the leadership expected to protect the
gains achieved by the counties youth (of then) and charting a way forward
towards the unified youth movement for the 21st century and beyond.
the leagues, as fertile grounds of their mother bodies- remember that these
are not alliances to the parent organisations; should promote political
understanding of the policies, ideologies and the required existance of the
political mobilisation as the nurturing and fertile soil to keeping political
conciousness of the masses. the leagues should deploy into SASCO their cadres
to strengthen it and not to contest among themselves- take note that SASCO is
not a political organisation but a breeding ground for concious leaders of the
people form the source- the PARTIES and not COSATU.
now ON with NYDA, jobs for youth, expiration of demagogues in institutions
of higher learning for permanent employment as src's. remeber as a leader at
that level, you need to master the culture of succesion leadership
development, and not hold on for ever till who comes before you develop
cadres that understand the purpose and direction for the said organisations.
 Long Live the Alliance!

cdes I titally agree with cde Lazola, infact i raised some of his facts when
YCL
decided to contest elections in KZN. Cdes im convinced and my experience

me well to identify opportunism. For any ANCYL and YCL branch to contest
elections stands to be questioned and scrutinised coz most of the time if not
all is opportunistic because SASCO is under attact due to any reason. Mst
reasons that lead to sasco becoming unpopular are factions caused by
leadership
and power struggles, bussiness interests(tender issuing), SRC related
corruption
and so on. Sasco cdes ussually fail to solve those problems and some will run
away to launch ANCYL or YCL and start contesting elections. If they are
culprits at Sasco they will remaim culprits even to YCL or YL. If they failed
to stop culprits at Sasco they will fail even at YL or YCL. Let there be no
YCL
or AANCYL branch to contest elections in institutions where sasco is
available.
Those cdes must make sasco strong, not to run away coz they will think that
is
a strategy.

Those cdes will run away from ANC to form UDF.

YCL NATIONAL COMMITTEE MUST TAKE A POSITION TO PROHIBIT SRC CONTESTATION IN
PRESENCE OF SASCO AT ANY INSTITUTION OF HIGHER LEARNING IN SA,FULL STOP.
