I strongly agree with you Cmrde Gugu,

Let's wait and see what comes out of the disciplinary, but for me I
still feel that there is something going on in the ANCYL KZN Region,
fishy I must say and one day the truth will come out.

My point is, the sub title asserts that Comrade Kgalema is leading a
faction in the YL and it is incorrect

We can't behave as if we are not ANC members-when the ANC specifically
called for discipline on such things .

Its really improper comrades. If some people choose to do things
incorrectly, we can't then follow suite and say "oh well if they are
doing it, why can't we"- hence some are facing disciplinary matters

Let's allow objectivity and discipline to prevail and not encourage
factionalism. Cde Gwede came out strongly against it and acknowledged
the severe ramifications it has on the organisation

VC you do not have to be defensive- the article is too divisive- do not
let your anti-Malema mindset rule your brain! No one approves of
Malema's way of doing things- but leave Kgalema alone!!!!

It is not incorrect, Cde Gugu, and any divisiveness comes from what is
described in the article.

It may be shocking to you, but in fact the Malema faction of the ANC
Youth League is also a Kgalema-for-President faction, which the Deputy
President has not discouraged, and which he actively encouraged by
appearing at the Youth League National Congress after the re-election of
Malema, to pose with him for the cameras.

When the rioters were outside Luthuli House on 29th/30th August burning
Cde Blade's image, Cde President Zuma's image and the ANC flag, were at
the same time brandishing large, expensive pre-printed placards saying
"Motlanthe for President", Motlanthe did not distance himself from the
display.

Kgalema Motlanthe is mentioned in the article of the Business Day.

When it comes to the Subject line of the e-mail postings, we are not
prisoners of the newspaper sub-editors, Cde Gugu.

If the Kgalema thing is an "elephant in the room" for you, that you want
to pretend is not there, it's not anybody else's fault. The rest of us
have to see it for what it is. We can't go on talking about "anti-Zuma"
as if we do not know who is actually being referred to.

Morning,

Just as a matter of interest the heading "Kgalema Motlanthe Faction
smashes KZN structures"-is this an official heading from Business day or
is it another title-it sounds HIGHLY incorrect and divisive!

I just want clarity

Youth league strips rebel province of its 'powers'

Sibongakonke Shoba, Business Day, Johannesburg, 29 September 2011

THE KwaZulu-Natal African National Congress (ANC) Youth League has been
stripped of its powers after its clashes with the Julius Malema-led
national leadership.

League secretary-general Sindiso Magaqa said yesterday the decision to
strip the provincial leaders of their powers was taken by the national
working committee after divisions within the KwaZulu-Natal executive
became public last week. "There is infighting in that province and there
is no stability," Mr Magaqa said.

However, he could not explain what this decision meant. "It means they
have no powers," he said.

This is likely to fuel tensions in the league and the ANC, pitting
supporters of ANC president Jacob Zuma against those who want him
replaced by his deputy Kgalema Motlanthe. The league in KwaZulu-Natal
has thrown its weight behind Mr Zuma while Mr Malema is linked to the
anti-Zuma campaign.

KwaZulu-Natal chairman Mthandeni Dlungwane yesterday said his executive
would oppose the decision as it had been influenced by its refusal to
support Mr Malema and his campaigns. "We will do whatever is necessary
to fight this decision."

Mr Dlungwane is leading a pro-Zuma faction in the province, while Mr
Malema's group is led by provincial secretary Bheki Mtolo. Mr Mtolo is
said to be in favour of the national working committee decision.

Both factions have gone to the league's lower structures to lobby
support. Mr Dlungwane said his backers would form the majority in all of
the scheduled regional general council meetings. "We will be there in
numbers," he said.

Mr Magaqa denied the regional meetings had been called to explain the
national working committee decision. "We are going there to discuss the
OR Tambo month programme of mass action and other political issues," he
said.
