Thanks Tomas, I haven't checked yet, but your workaround seems feasible. I've posted an RFE and referenced your approach as a workaround. That's nearly what zpool should do under the hood, and perhaps can be done temporarily with a wrapper script to detect min(physical storage sizes) ;)
