A bit late this but I have to agree that Osunlade was sweet.
A welcome dose of house made a change from the bangbangbang of Mills that
other Londoners were following that night.
Nobody mentioned A Guy Called Gerald who seems to have had a bit of a DJing
renaissance recently. He played a welcome set of old school Chicago acid at
Retrovert the week before and this week he played some fantastic
Faze-Action-style downtempo house with some Latin flavours but I have to say
I didn't hear much of it cos I was dancing to Orson Lardy so much.

Agreed. Two other bits of the Brixton Techno Mafia and two technotourists
say "ouch". Serious podiatric damage incurred. Consensus fantastic
performance. Next to last song was Chaka Khan's "I Know You, I Live You"
followed by something that sounds like Osunlade 3 years from now. Mr.
Odeluga was g e t t i n g d o w n to some Fela Kuti in the last hour as
well. He played a ton of his own tracks and I spotted a few older Strictly
records. I'm sure Otto and KJ can give a more thorough report on the track
selection. At any rate, it was really nice seeing The End crowd (and venue)
transformed for a house vibe. There was a lot of space to move almost all
night, and that is a precious commodity at The End. Per topicality: he
played Amp Dog Knights, a Moodymann cut that isn't on KDJ (can't recall
which off the top of my head), and Theo Parrish's "I Can Take It".
