I posted part of an interview w/ D May on Sat. It was in Motormouth
monthly (a small independent rag here in Detroit) and done by Liz Copeland who
is a much respected NPR DJ and journalist here. Anyway, I don't know if
Derrick was trying to stir up controversy as he seems like to do, but he did
say that KW wanted 6 figures. He also said he lost like $170k on last year's
event, but is going forward again this year. Plans to have 50/50 Detroit vs
non-Detroit artists.
As much as I would love to see KW at the festival, and am kind of T-ed
off at them for charging so much, I sooo wish I could get out of going to my
Grandma's 90th for their show in Toronto on April 23rd. Tickets were still
available yesterday.

What are your sources?
Not that I am dismissing this, but there is always so much bad
blood stirred by miscommunication...

BTW you know the post about KW and the six figure fee required
if they are gonna appear at Movement?
Does anyone else feel slightly peed off by this? I feel that as
its Movement they could at least drop the cost ...I am a little annoyed by
this as it would make a truly memorable festival..

Alex
Feel exactly the same way you did after seeing the
Saturday night! I couldnt
stop rocking popping and locking despite the mass chin
stroking! It was
strange because it felt as if there was an amzing atmos
in there, but it
always seemed to be eminating from somewhere else, no
matter where I
positioned myself. Didn't matter though, I spent the
whole night inside my
own head, the music was just incredible. I couldnt stop
thinking that these
guys had been around since the 70s and they still put
everything else to
shame. Most pure, futuristic techno Ive ever heard. Do
you think they get
help from other producers to update all thier old
stuff? Ive been told by a
couple of people they do. Whatever though, Im still
buzzing off it and I
cant seem to get these 3 words out of my head........
