Sure, and I appreciate the difference between deliberate distortion for aesthetic reasons * and due to bad mastering etc. However, I have an OK hi-fi system at home, and it just sounds a bit 'off'. Like he was going for the crunchy sound, but somehow 'followed through' ;). N * Take Portishead for instance. I spent ages cleaning my CD but that f-ing crackling noise was still there :(.
