Two great answers so far. That must be it. I'm just using a regular
DVD player in my computer, it is new one however.
I'm shooting a TV show with a low budget. All out of my pocket. That's
why I'm shooting with my Sony Z1U instead of a rented Sony F-900 or
Varicam. I've been using the DVDs to edit the pilot and then watch it
on my HDTV (Sony 46W3000)and Sony Trinitron (SD) TVs. The picture on
the SD TV looks great and the picture on the HDTV looks as good as a
lot of other "Pro" shows. It's just that on the HDTV you can see some
grain (more like pixel globulation)(again just like a lot of the other
"Pro" shows have showing). It doesn't help that its blown up to 46" too.
My main goal is discover the best way to transfer it to the broadcasst
stations after it's edited. In the early days, I provided them with a
Beta SP tape and then later a DigiBeta tape. I just figured that
presently its delivered via DVDs. Am I wrong on that assumption? If it
can go DVD I guess it would have to be via the new BlueRay DVDs.
Are the new BlueRay DVD recorders an astronomical price (such as
thousands) or are they more affordable (in the hundreds)? I'll look
and see while I'm waiting for an answer. Would the recorder need to be
Pro grade vs. consumer grade?
Thanks for the replies.
