Oops.. I thought your camcorder has HDMI connection. The Canon HV20 has an HDMI port that I can get video play back digital to digital to HDTV without any Digital-Analog conversion loss.

Next step you should try a HDMI connection. On my Sony Z1U video camera I have HDV/DV, Component, Audio/video, and S Video outputs. My TV has S Video, component and HDMI inputs. I'm using the cables that came with the camera. Not sure which out to use on the camera to end up with a HDMI on the other end. Either way I'll need to get the right cable/adapter combo. Actual specs from ad on my TV: 2 x component video input ( RCA phono ) - rear 2 x composite video input ( RCA phono ) - rear 1 x composite video input ( RCA phono ) - side 1 x S-Video input ( 4 pin mini-DIN ) - rear 1 x headphones ( mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm ) - side 1 x VGA input ( 15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15) ) - rear 2 x HDMI ( 19 pin HDMI Type A ) - rear 1 x HDMI ( 19 pin HDMI Type A ) - side 1 x digital audio output (coaxial) - rear 1 x serial ( 9 pin D-Sub ) 1 x audio line-in ( RCA phono ) - side 4 x audio line-in ( RCA phono ) - rear 1 x audio line-out ( RCA phono ) - rear Actual specs from brochure on Sony Z1U camera: Audio/Video input/output AUDIO/VIDEO jack x1 S-video input/output Mini-DIN 4-pin x 1 Component video output COMPONENT OUTPUT jack i.LINK Interface 4-pin What's the best way to get to HDMI?
