Well isn't that interesting. My BGP peer is configured with remote AS =
4436. Looking glass says the AS path is 3257 > 40926. So they're
re-writing AS#'s or something. Meh, I don't care.

collapse, they were using both ASN's on the same router. We were able
to see this when both of our BGP Sessions were collapsed on to the
same Router...
It is possible that they have done similar @ 350 Cemack.
If you look at bgp.he.net, you will see that AS4436 is becoming a
placeholder / internal ASN for them.

We're peered at 350 E Cermak. Maybe they said screw it, 350 will
be AS4436. Like buildings that have their own zip code.

I got an email many months ago saying that's what they're
doing. We're peered with 4436. So I asked, when are we
coordinated to be moved to 3257? They said... you're not.
Umm.. Ok. So I don't know WTF their plan is. Maybe they're
going to stick with the 4436 as regional and 3257 as global plan.
