Sorry for not talking about this much, but during our investigation, we wanted
to make sure we were covering all the bases. It does appear to be an isolated
manufacturing defect. We are working to narrow down and publish the MAC
address list of potentially affected units, and should have this within a few
days.

Unfortunately, this could be a latent issue, and units may not fail right away.
 More details to follow.

It seems that one of the first major snafus was when they moved production from
Canada to Mexico. Supply chain of a critical component issue. The guy
managing the logistics of that got fired as I recall. I don’t remember what
critical part was left unordered and there was a huge lead time on it.

If Cambium waits just a little bit longer they can open a fabrication facility
in Texas and hire the experienced Mexican crew - that used to assemble good
radios :-)

Well when you subcontract the manufacturing out to a competitor’s plant (UBNT)

This smells like a similar problem for sure.
Assuming that this is a manufacturing and not a design issue, my guess is that
it's either some process causing a component crack (i.e. not properly baking a
moisture sensitive part before assembly..causing popcorning, or a mechanical
flex during separation), or possibly a counterfeit component.

Actually, both… but I was referring to the actual product issue, resulting in
the need for RMA.

The RMA process and forms are being reviewed also, and being worked by the
right teams. (Different folks than are working on the product root cause… whew!)

The RMA or the ADI issue?

Dear Cambium - what’s going on, and how many more of these can we expect to
fall over dead?

Not cool when it happens to the same new customer twice in 10 days. Makes us
look like idiots.
