Interesting approach, though my next release will allow people to opt
out of ads for $1. At 4%, it's tempting to do as you suggest, but I'll
report (once I have data) what the result is on the $1 buy-out clause.
Would be nice if they let us charge $0.10 using in-app payments, like
they're doing with the $0.10 app promotion, since I bet a lot more
people would opt out for $0.10 -- and that's typically more than I'd get
for getting them to click on an ad anyway.

they can stop them. That means that only 4% of users decided to stop

Those 4% are certainly vocal though. Before I had the opt-out, I got
lots of hate mail from furious users who thought it was an affront to
their personal space to show ads. By letting them opt out, they have
been silenced completely.
I would recommend to anyone who decided to run ads in their app to
have an option to allow users to opt out for free. The 4% who are
against advertising won't click on the ads anyway so it's better to
just let them stop the ads and be done with it. Making them pay to get
rid of the ads just infuriates those people anyway.
