It doesn't break anything on my system.
Yes, community packages can be broken after something goes from
testing to core/extra.
This may be improved by creating community-testing repo or integrating
community into extra. Packages in Extra *do* go to Testing when
needed.

We already did a lot of work to improve packaging quality:
1) moved all critical packages to Core
2) *all* updates to Core go to Testing first
3) reduced the number of orphaned packages
4) started Extra cleanup
and next steps are in progress.

We cannot make "ideal" distro in one month.

If something is broken for you - file a bug, so this can be fixed quickly.
Try packages in Testing if you expect some problems, before they go to
Core/Extra, and report found bugs.
If you know how to fix some issue - send a patch.

There is a separate project in butracker named "Community Packages" now.
If there is a bug in some Community package - help to fix it. You're a TU!

Please send all complaints about pacman to pacman-dev ML (patches are
welcome) or create reports on bugtracker.
You've messed everything into one stream of complaints here.

I\m waiting for a *concrete* list of what's broken for you on every -Syu.
Feel free to send it directly to me or create separate reports on bugtracker.

Now everyone please let stop this thread. It's pointless.
