Hi! I don't agree that studying Oracle is the right for You, I have been an ars
developer since 1997, and never noticed that I miss knowledge about Oracle, C
and VB ...well, yes good to have knowledge, but it's not releted to the title
'Remedy Administrator'.

Question: What are the expectations upon You? Are you responible for an ars
system in production? just to maintain this, have it up and running, or many
change requests related to the ars code which must be implemented in a few
months?

Do You have any DBA at your company? He/she takes care of Oracle i think.

Start to learn the usertool, how it works, that's the basic before you login to
the admin tool and make any changes.
If You don't have any knowledege about macros, how to perform a search on ASB,
it will be diffucult to analyze the code.
And, you must also have 100% knowledge about the application, how it works,
knowledge about Groups and policys for permissions in the application.

Later, continue with Oracle and C.

Have you had any background in any sort of application development - ie.
Anything like VB, C, or even HTML coding?

Regards
