Joe, I'm glad it was open and I think it was very good to do so
since it does allow people to walk through to AP. I personally
thought it did draw many to AP from the south. What we would like to
know is there any financially backed plan for the casino's
restoration? I don't really think it is unreasonable to demand that
there is one in place. It will none of us any good to simply have
that and other buildings sit in those kind of conditions
indefinitely (they won't, they'll continue to deteriorate). No one
can say that their restoration is not part of the deal, in fact, it
is one of the main, if not the main, impetus of the deal for the
city. Even Kate Mellina is now calling for the council to make
Asbury Partners live up to its part of the bargain. Can anyone
dispute that AP (and our property values) would not be a better
place with the Casino and pavillions restored? What is there to
argue about? Nothing. Let's do it.
