Asbury has 2 primary employers, the city and state, the limited residential tenants in proximity to the retailers tend to be artsy-craftsy types who work locally but have little disposable income. To succeed Asbury will have to reach a critical mass of residents and day-trippers, seeking out something not found in adjacent towns; how we get there without adequate parking, regular hours and an overall message that Asbury Park is more than "coming soon to a neighborhood near you" is the question.
