The Jersey Shore Rescue Mission opened its thrift shop yesterday.

The Mission has a variance for this - for the time being at least.

However, the Mission never applied for a mercantile license.

The city issued the organization a summons today.

This Mission does not play by the rules because it does not care
about the rules. Apparently when one is doing the Lord's work,
details like licensing and state mandated safety measures are low
priorities.

I guess it helps to have $6,000,000 in the bank too. Those pesky
fines and legal bills!

The City of Asbury Park will have absolutely NO control over this
operation no matter how many conditions the zoning board may try to
place on it. That is why the board must deny all of the variances
the Mission seeks.
