In this case like the one in Tezpur, it is as if the GOA just did not
exist, or wasn't aware until someone 'sokut ghuki diye' (poke the
eye).

That essentially is the problem here, where authorities basically were
asleep for 54 + years. This speaks volumes of how inept the GOA has
been thru successive administrations. Those 5 lives in the mental
hospital are lost forever.
They will probably be dead before this thing is over, and they might
as well 'bay at the moon' for any possible compensation from the
State.

**** And where are the institutions of desi demokrasy that the victims can go to for redress?

It is one thing for NHRC to publicize the cases, but anther to bring relief. Where is the relief? Where will it be found?

I don't any netter was trying to kill the messenger (NHRC) in the
Godhra case. They were questioning the motive of the US.

Also, you may find cases of attrocities (like Godhra) or some cases of
muders or what not in other states - I do not doubt that. But if you
find any state (except Bihar) that has a govt. thats NOT aware of
whats going on, do let us know.

Good work ny NHRC -- which is an NGO. Goes to prove the dire need of NGOs in

*** Incisive, steel trap minded observation Ram. Goes to prove, once
again, that the Assamese are unfit to govern themselves.

But of course the system of justice of desi-demokrasy and the Assam
Govt cloned in the likeness of Indian Govt. has nothing to do with
 anything.

Hurricane force spinning Ram, that is what is :-)
