Title: Re: [Assam] Sunil Nath in Tehelka
VIOLATIONS OF GARDEN VARIETY TYPE LOGICS:

*** You are the one who asserted with 'logical' analysis that ULFA had no basis for its demands or grievances for which it took up arms.
That is a true statement.  ULFA does not have any basis for seeking independence. No basis for seeking sovereignty. No basis for taking arms and killing people. Don't you agree?

>Then you turned around to recommend an alternative to ULFA to negotiate with GoI, when talk of ULFA/GoI talks seemed like a possibility.

This is not called turned around. Turn around would be to support ULFA.  I am not supporting ULFA. I am simply trying to take advantage of ULFA for the sake of the people of Assam for the sacrifice the people did for the last 25/30 years because of ULFA. The people of Assam need to be compensated. The people of Assam should try to take ULFA as a leverage to get what it wants. Even if ULFA is not there, they should take their demands to GOI which they have not done. Do you see any problem there?.

>Even people like Shantikam Hazarika  and Dainik Asom Editors see no point in negotiations  between the ULFA and GoI.

Why you are surprised? Why you were expecting people to support ULFA.? If you see any point in such negotiations let us hear from you. What point you see from such negotiations when all you know is that ULFA wants sovereignty (period). And as pointed out by Santanu, ULFA would be fool to say, BTW we also need the following if sovereignty is not given.  What point you see from such negotiations other than the people of Assam taking advantage of the situation and get what it wants.  Tell me how do you see things differently. Let us hear your strategy if you have one.

If Assam had no grievances, no legitimate demands, then how come all of a sudden an alternative forum is required to negotiate with GoI ?

Tse, Tse, Tse. Now who said when that Assam has no legitimate grievances? Touba Touba! In fact you are the one who says Assam may not have any grievances.
