I just configured one of these... It's just weird.. really weird..
The web gui is not organized logically like call comes in here and goes out there... You have to set it up in four different places to get calls to go through to the PBX and then another four places (redundant) to go out again. It has 4 plus ways of selecting a phone line depending on the source and destination. Also a few of the default settings need to be changed for it to be able to do anything. It doesn't take dhcp and the default IP is 10.1.11.12 or something. The only documentation shipped with the unit I got was a slip of paper telling me the default IP and login. There was maybe one good tutorial out there on the net. But it took a few hours to set it up, not something you wanna do sitting on the floor of the server room. If you do use it, pre-configure it with a dummy server and a phone line and save the config once it is working and ship it out.

Great input Reza, Chen. Thanks for that.

Now that it's down to Cisco/Granstream the prices are ~$440 for Cisco and ~210 for AudioCodes units.

Chris, can you please elaborate on what you mean by carrier grade? would simply connecting it to the router/switch, grabbing a DHCP and registering to Asterisk server take a few days for me to fine tune or were you talking about complex situations or the fact that it's management GUI is confusing? I am well versed with Asterisk and Linksys/Cisco gateways but never used AudioCodes products so I am not sure what you mean by "don't even touch it". I appreciate some input.

***This is to be deployed in a remote region so of course it should have the capability to be managed remotely.

Regards,
Bruce
