@108, you are attempting to apply a definition of the word "clone" in an out-of-context methodology. The word 'clone', as defined in the dictionary, is, as you said, "A copy or imitation of something already existing, especially when designed to simulate it." You seem to be missing the few important portions of this definition -- "copy or imitation" and "especially when designed to simulate it". However even this definition is improper, as it is out of context. The definition that is in use here, that is in context, is "Code that is taken from another computer program in an unauthorized manner and utilizing it in another without crediting the original author." If we were to expand on this definition, we would then add, "The code taken may or may not be modified to attempt to make it look original." That is the true definition of cloning in this context.
