Re: preparation regarding copyright

It isn't about fear, it's about power, and a power play that just ended in a huge success for him today.

Let's forget the ethics for a minute. Can the mod team enforce this policy? Absolutely not, or at least, not a fair and equal way. So it shouldn't be put in place. How will you suss out who pirated sound libs versus who paid for them, versus who has gained legal permission without paying through some other means. If person A buys this library fair and square, but gives it to a circle of friends, how will the staff be able to identify these facets. They cannot and will not be able to. Not with an accuracy reaching anywhere near to 100%, because people will lie their way out, and you - the staff - have no way of proving they are lying. Not only that, but it would be a huge effort taking the entire team working every day on it. It will take a heavy investment of each and every team member's time. And that's assuming they even know what they're looking for. So you're blithely going on backing this to the hilt knowing full well you cannot enforce it equally.

Yes, people go on doing this and yes it is, they are displaying hypocrisy making it look like they don't when they do, and downplaying it. That doesn't change the fact that the staff cannot enforce this policy equally, and if they can't enforce it equally, it should not stand. And, You with your radical leftist politics that leaches into everything you do Jayde, you should realize this. You're having at worst a republican, at best a centrist with right-leaning views tell you about equality, when it should be running through your veins. How is this right, and how is it fair to the rest of us.

Now we are in a situation where your day has come, the forum is firmly entrenched in your fist. You won. You won against an entire forum, and the staff. You won everybody over to your side. Well, we're not on your side, at least a good many of us aren't. But, that doesn't stop you from doing whatever you want, because no one can have any impact on you other than perhaps Liam. You might as well call us scum vermin and have done with it for all any of us have been able to talk sense into you. So, the forum is in your fist now, what will you do with it. Because what you're doing right now isn't working. It's not working one iota. You're literally fragmenting this community worse than if five forums would have split off from this. You get stuck in one little area and don't see the bigger picture. Here's something, this forum is no longer a place where developers can safely post about their games. It's so full of strife, and guess who caused that. You did. The BSG article might have been the flash in the pan, but it was the way the staff reacted, that caused things to become the way they are now. You want to literally argue against every other member of this forum, and you're always right, no matter what. That's fine. You've got the power you so desperately crave. But, it's come at a cost. That cost is you no longer have a forum whose legacy has been kept in tact. You no longer have a forum that has a proud history, because you have left a dark mark there. You've undone the work of nearly 15 years of smooth running in less than one year. So, I hope you're happy. Hold this forum in your fist for as long as it survives, because you're killing it faster, and instead of extinguishing the fire, you're pouring accelerant on it.
