Re: preparation regarding copyright

I know that the staggering amount of entitlement which is often on display in this community isn't good, and I'm honestly not happy that it's starting to poison this topic, but those of us who are looking at this rationally aren't saying that just because we're blind, it gives us the right to have anything and everything that we want for free. What many of us are saying is that there is no way you can enforce such a draconian stance and make it fair. It's not about one or two games slipping through the cracks, it's about having to completely overhaul the database, which in itself is no easy task. Then you would have to get a team of experts, or at least those who are well-versed in programming, to disassemble each game. Given the fact that there's a lot of descent within the community already, you're going to be pretty hard-pressed to find enough people who will not only dedicate much of their time to such a project, it's also somewhat unreasonable to expect anyone to do so for...what, exactly? Cleaning the place up, making it look more professional? Could you name a forum in existance which is 100% squeaky clean, with no drama, bickering, or mention of illicit material anywhere? If that's the goal, you're never going to be satisfied, there will always be something "amoral" to try and scrub away. Any actions which are taken from here on out regarding this are going to pave the way for expected behavior on this forum going forward, and while it may make sense to get rid of glaringly obvious copyright infractions, in doing so, and applying harsh measures to strip away any and all so-called wrongdoing, you're going to completely change the culture of this forum, which has been on tenuous ground at best for the past year or so.
