The game is not better with NVDA. Did you play it with a good Sapi voice? With a screen reader, you need to press enter all the time, while with sapi the experience is seamless and the combat just sounds better, and those are exactly the reasons why he was against it. Just imagine, you use a quick item, it tells you the item name and you need to press enter to go on. That's not a better experience. It works, sure, but is not the best experience for new players who will ultimately blame the dev for having to do that.
