The idea was to record the output from a component (i.e. preamp or
amp), not from the speakers. So, if you are testing a source (i.e. SB3,
cd player, DAC), record the output from the preamp. If you are testing
the preamp, itself, record the output from the amp. Only if you are
testing the amplifier, would you then need to get the output from the
speakers.
