Thanks for all the help, you guys are great, I love this forum and of course I love my sqeezeboxes. I think I will whimp out and go with Bruce's suggestion of leaving XP on it and see how that goes. I can clean everything off the computer that I do not need and hopefully it can do the job. My idea of hooking up the cd burner to the music server was to rip cds while I am working away on my workstation. It looks like I will be able to do this with Tight Vnc. I should have my son's new computer next week and the old box will be mine. My journey for a music server shall begin.
