Some people actually use their Transporters as digital preamps. If you want to feed your DVD player through the stereo system, it's as good a way as any other - I would argue more elegant. I think I am the only person to remark about this, and was merely pointing out that it means the user interface is more like a Sonos. Nothing wrong with that.
