Just to be clear, I'm not making any such claims. Digital attentuation
simply reduces SNR by the amount of the attenuation applied. However,
this does mean that at full volume, there is no degradation as compared
to putting additional analog circuitry in the path. That alone makes it
the best solution **for a source device** IMHO. Then use a good quality
preamp if you want analog attenuation. I would think the digital control
_is_ actually better for the first 10-20db of attenuation. Really though
we'd have to know what specific analog volume control circuit we're
talking about....

I actually just got this working yesterday... new firmware coming very
soon.
