my humble opinion is that every hobby is an exercise in self-expression and individuality. so i would hope audiophiles simply are pursuing the musical values they treasure, and this will depend on their very individual priority is.
as a percussion player hobbyist, i place a lot of priority on very clean and what i perceive to be a clean and revealing percussion sound - and i am aware my particular focus may be off-putting for someone who likes his system to play string quartets in a way that melts your heart, accentuating the vibrato sweetness and such. i have had such debates with classical guitar playing audiophiles :-) it is left to people's preferences whether the mission of a system is to flatter recordings or to reveal their weaknesses, and i also think over the course of an audiophil journey we will explore slightly different takes on that fundamental question. -- pablolie ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pablolie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49757 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
