I did connect my Transporter directly into a Primare 33.2 power amp using balanced ouputs. At first I worried about overloading the Primare input, since I did not use any attenuation. It turned out that the Transporter was not able to drive the Primare no where near the maximum. So, in my case I need a pre-amp. Secondly I realy feel a pre-amp is the key element of making- or braking a system. Without pre-amp the sound is just very 'correct'.
