FYI, I've used a set of Aperion bookshelf speakers in my den (I believe the "600 series, about 15" tall and quite deep). They were a major improvement on the older bookshelf speakers (don't recall the brand). I liked their sound. And I currently use a set of Aperion "500" or "400" series (about 10 or 12" high) bookshelf speakers in my office at work. I drive these with a little parasound Z amp and preamp and I quite like the sound.
