Jitter on the s/pdif is measurable with the correct (expensive)
equipment and test procedures. The debate is about how/to what extent
it impacts the DAC and its analogue output - ie what we actually hear.

On audition some DAC's are impervious to even quite high jitter, others
are rather sensitive to it.
