That's the beauty of this simple test - it combines all of these supposed effects into one and allows us to test wether their cumulative effect is audible. There's no need to separate these issues and test them separately. If the poor overloaded server sends its data packets in an uneven pattern and stresses the NIC, and if the router/switch/etc add noise to the ethernet cables, then surely it should be easier to hear the combined effect. *IF* the test proves there's an effect, that's the time to start looking for the culprits. For this test NOT to work requires that the content of the buffer is NOT a perfect representation of the logical bit values that were in the original data file. Are you still disputing that? -- chill ------------------------------------------------------------------------ chill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10839 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91322 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
