With some trepidation and skepticism, I tried SBGK's suggestion to cut the shielding on the USB cable running between the USB hub and the MF VLink II. I don't know that I'd try this with an expensive cable, but mine wasn't. Remarkably, I manged to cut the shielding and foil without destroying anything else. It helped....noticeably. I don't have the knowledge to explain why, or if this issue is peculiar only to Vlink, but worth a try if anyone feels that something's not quite right with their USB sound quality.
