I do have two Francisco Carreiro's in my data base but they are most likely
not the one you are looking for. One was married around 1840 and the other
married in 1874. Neither of the wives names match. I have very few records
from NS Conciecao in my data base.

Yes, I have all these records on file. I am delighted that you have
something. You must be very excited! And tyou have run intoi a whole gang of
Ponta Garca researchers. How fortunate is that!

I think there is no doubt these are your ancestors. Too many cooincidences
not to be and the Pingao nickname is a pretty solid corroboratory factor
when combined with the actual names. Perhaps Rick can help you out with the
Ribeirinha (Ribeira Grande connection and there is one, as Maria Rita or
Maria Emilia da Conceicao was from Ribeira Grande, Conceicao parish and her
parents are Francisco Carreiro and Maria Rita). In my opinion, if there is
also a Ribeira das Tainhas connection, this is not that unusual in the sense
that these places are very close by and it is not unusual, but certainly
less frequent, to be born in one place and baptised in another.

What is your ancestors name? I will send you a report and attach the name.
