Is there a way to permanently store frequently-used
search values in BBEdit's Find editor?
Sure, just use the "Patterns" pop-up.
My problem with that technique is that is doesn't lend itself to
documentation of what has been done to a text file in the text file
itself.
That's not what the original poster was asking about, unless I
misinterpreted the question. Regardless, find & replace in BBEdit is
recordable -- you could record your actions while you're working,
which would track those kinds of operations as an AppleScript. Might
require a little tweaking after-the-fact, and it isn't a worksheet,
but might be one way to get part way there.
